Integrate your faith into counseling
Christian Counseling
Christian Counseling Can Offer Deep Healing by Aligning Your Faith with Your Emotional and Mental Health
For many individuals, integrating spiritual beliefs into therapy can bring comfort, clarity, and a deeper sense of purpose throughout the healing process. Christian counseling offers the opportunity to explore emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns through a biblical lens—while also using evidence-based clinical approaches.
The integration of faith in counseling is always optional and tailored to your personal preferences. Whether you actively practice your faith, are questioning, or prefer a strictly clinical approach, you are welcome here. There is no right or wrong way to engage in therapy—only what feels most meaningful and supportive to you.
Faith-based support is simply one of the many tools available to you in our work together, should you choose to include it.
You’re Looking for Counseling That Honors Your Faith—Because It’s a Core Part of Who You Are
You want the support of therapy, but you also want your spiritual beliefs to be respected and included in the process. Faith plays a meaningful role in your identity, values, and how you make sense of life’s challenges—and you don’t want to leave that behind in counseling.
Christian counseling offers a space where your faith can be integrated into the therapeutic process, helping you align emotional healing with spiritual growth in a way that feels authentic and supportive.
Your worldview may be deeply rooted in your faith—shaping how you understand your purpose, your worth, and how you process pain. You may have overcome past hardships by turning to your beliefs, scripture, or prayer. And yet, even with that foundation,
you’re still feeling…
Emotionally stuck or unable to move forward from past experiences
Hopeless or uncertain about your future
Overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or a deep sense of weariness
Christian Counseling can help you integrate your faith while also learning from evidenced-based mental health practices.
This approach invites you to reconnect with God in a way that feels honest and restorative. Whether you're feeling distant, hurt, betrayed, or confused in your faith, this is a safe space to bring your authentic emotions into the light. Christian counseling is not about silencing your struggles—it's about learning to express them openly and receive care, comfort, and healing through both therapeutic support and your relationship with God.

Christian counseling is a collaborative and personalized process that honors your unique faith journey. At the beginning of our work together, we’ll discuss your spiritual beliefs and determine how much—or how little—you’d like to integrate your faith into therapy.
For those who choose to incorporate faith, we may explore your view of God, gently process emotions in His presence, and practice listening for God’s guidance through prayer. Together, we’ll create space to reconnect with God’s compassion, deepen your spiritual awareness, and align your healing process with the values and truths of your faith.

FAQs
-
Christian counseling is a deeply personal choice, and whether or not to integrate your faith into the therapy process depends on your individual journey, comfort level, and spiritual background.
For some, faith is a source of strength and guidance—and incorporating it into therapy feels natural and supportive. For others, especially those who have experienced spiritual trauma or hurt within religious settings, faith can be a more complex or sensitive topic. That’s completely okay.
In Christian counseling, you are always in control of how much, if any, spiritual integration takes place. We can explore your questions and concerns together to help you decide what feels safe, meaningful, and right for you—without pressure or judgment.
-
Absolutely. You do not need to have a faith background to begin therapy with me. I work with many clients from diverse spiritual, cultural, and non-religious backgrounds. Whether you identify with a particular belief system or not, you will be welcomed with compassion, respect, and without judgment.
Christian counseling is available as an optional resource for those who wish to include their faith in the therapeutic process—but it is never a requirement. Our work together will be tailored to your individual needs, values, and goals.
-
Not at all. While Christian counseling is available for clients who wish to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process, all counseling is grounded in evidence-based practices such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care. Your treatment will always be guided by clinically sound methods that are tailored to your individual needs and goals.
If you choose to include faith-based counseling, it will complement—not replace—proven therapeutic approaches. For clients seeking a fully spiritual or theological focus, I often recommend working with a pastoral counselor or certified spiritual director alongside our therapy work.
This balanced approach allows you to experience both emotional healing and spiritual growth in a way that feels supportive, ethical, and aligned with your values.

I am a Certified Spiritual Director, having completed a two-year certification program through Soul Shepherding, which specializes in spiritual formation and emotional health. This training equipped me with practical, faith-integrated tools to help clients explore their relationship with God, process emotions spiritually, and reflect on how their faith journey has shaped their identity and healing process.
In addition to my certification, I have worked in faith-integrated counseling settings, where I regularly incorporated Christian principles into therapy for individuals seeking spiritual and emotional growth. My approach to Christian counseling combines clinical expertise with a deep respect for each client’s personal faith, creating a compassionate space for both emotional healing and spiritual formation.
-
That’s completely okay. My role as a Christian counselor is not to provide a theology lesson, but to help you connect with God in a personal, relational, and meaningful way. Your denominational background will be fully respected, and our work together will focus on your unique faith journey and spiritual needs.
The tools and practices used in faith-based counseling are designed to support emotional healing and spiritual growth across a wide range of Christian traditions. Whether you come from a Protestant, Catholic, non-denominational, or other Christian background, you’ll find a safe, inclusive space to explore your faith and your mental health.
